1.2 EXTRACT OF THE GAURANTEE CONDITIONS

The manufacturer delivers the tested machine (in good working condition) and pack it

in a proper way requested by the client for the designated type of transportation.

Manufacturer is not liable for the damage to the machine during the operations of

transportation, loading and unloading.

The manufacturer undertakes to deliver the machine that confirms to agreement. The

delivered machine should be free from defects that would make them unsuitable for

usage.

The manufacturer is liable for defects of the electric and electronic parts on the ground

of the guarantee conditions that are applied by the manufacturers or the suppliers of the

said parts.

The guarantee of the manufacturer does not apply to the parts that are subjected to

repaid and that are continuously worn and torn such as seals, mechanical parts (that are

designed for intensive work), fuses, remote control switches, relays, transmission

organs and etc.

The manufacturer offers the guarantee for a period of 1 year starting from the date of

the purchase that appears on the selling note or other related notes.

The machine comes with a toolbox for maintenance. The safety panel of the machine is

sealed with screws. Only authorized and qualified professionals can open the safety

panel AFTER cutting the power off and emptying the compressed air.

1.3 WARNING

The manufacturer recommends reading the present manual attentively before

starting using the machine.

All maintenance and repairing operations described in this manual must be carried

out only after having disconnected the machine’s electrical and pneumatic power

supplies.

All maintenance and repairing operations described in this manual must be carried

out only by qualified and trained personnel in order to avoid accidents to human

bodies and / or to damage to the machine.

The protective devices and other related safety measures designed by the

manufacturer are aimed at assuring the operator’s safety during operation and as

such the protective devices must not be removed.

It is ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL that the operators are knowledgeable of the

machine’s operation as well as of potential risks. Operators should be paying the

utmost attention during operation.

Any usage of the machine differing from what it is being described in this manual

constitutes an anomalous condition and as such represents a danger for the

operator’s safety, jeopardizing the machine’s correct operation.

Improper and / or anomalous usage of the machine is absolutely FORBIDDEN.

The efficiency and lifetime of the machine depend on how it is operated and

maintained on the respect of the instructions included in this manual.

The information reported in this manual is considered to be correct except for

typographical errors that are needed to be verified time to time basing on matured

experiences and standardized operating conditions.

1.4 WARRANTY

DAFENG warranty is of duration of 1 year on components not subject to wear and

tear.

DAFENG warranty does not cover electrical installation components.

The DF-586N must be operated at certain temperature (ranging from 5℃ to 35℃),

at certain relative humidity (a maximum value of 35% relative humidity), and under

constant line voltage complying to the machine’s identification plate.

The present warranty shall be declared void if the DF-586N machine is operated in

and anomalous manner, or in any case different from what it is being described in

this manual.

The present warranty shall be declared void if personnel who is not authorized by

DAFENG intervenes on the machine, or IF NON-ORIGINAL SPARE PARTS

ARE INSTALLED ONTO THE MACHINE.

2. MACHINE DESCRIPTION AND TECHNICAL

SPECIFICATIONS

2.1 MACHINE DESCRIPTON

The DF-586N Shoe Sole Pressing Machine are built exclusively for attaching soles onto

uppers.

The loading and unloading of the sole and upper is done by hands. The assembly or

attaching operation is performed automatically through a dedicated electronic card.

3. MACHINE INSTALLATION AND

TRANSPORTATION

The machine’s installation must be carried out by qualified and authorized personnel.

3.1 INSTALLATION OF THE MACHINE

-

The DF-586N Shoe Sole Pressing Machine is not designed to operate under an

environment with potential danger of explosion. It is therefore ABSOLUTELY

FORBIDDEN to operate the machine in an environment with a potential danger of

explosion.

-

The machine must be positioned in a dry environment to protect it from external

weather conditions and at certain temperature where optimal working conditions for

personnel are constantly respected.

-

-

-

-

The machine’s base must be able to support the weight of the machine; it must be

flat, non-sloping and without irregularities in order to guarantee a stable support.

At least one meter must be left free around all sides of the machine so as to allow

quick and easy access to all sides.

The working environment in where the machine is installed must have a minimum

luminosity of 200 Lux.

The DF-586N Shoe Sole Pressing Machine has been conceived and designed

according to ergonomic principles: the operation of it, under foreseeable conditions

and within regular work shifts, does not provoke any discomfort, fatigue or mental

tension basing on proven experiences.

3.2 CONNECTING TO ELECTRIC POWER SUPPLY

-

-

The line voltage must correspond to that indicated on the machine’s identification

plate.

The working environment must be equipped with a properly calibrated power plug

that is periodically verified; if this is not the case, suspend the installation until this

has been rectified.

-

-

Before carrying out the connection, the Power Switch (see Figure 2 on Page 12)

must be OFF.

Connect the machine to the plant’s electric power using a proper three-pole wire

with a section measuring at least 2.5m2.

3.3 CONNECTING TO AIR SUPPLY

-

-

The manufacturer recommends verifying that the plant’s air line is free of impurities

before installation.

Before carrying out the connection the Power Switch (see Figure 2 on Page 12)

must be OFF. The maximum air pressure allowed is 6 Bar. Connect the pneumatic

system by connecting the plant’s line tube to the coupling situated at the rear of the

machine. With a minimum internal diameter of 8mm, this tube must be capable of

support a maximum pressure of 6 bar.

CAUTION:

PRESSURE MUST BE FED GRADUALLY TO THE MACHINE TO AVOID

SUDDENLY LIFTING OF THE BELL, WHICH WOULD LEAD TO DAMAGE TO

THE ENTIRE MACHINE.

3.4 TRANSPORTATION, PLACING AND RELOCATION OF

THE MACHINE

-

-

The machine arrives with a package comprising a pallet with a cardboard box

(wooden case or crate upon request).

The machine is fixed to the pallet with special brackets and screws. The pallet can

only be removed after the machine is transported to its working station.

Transportation of the machine can be carried out using a motorized lift truck.

The machine’s bar center is located approximately 1100mm from the flooring.

CAUTION WHEN TRANSPORTATION:

THE MACHINE MIGHT TILT IF IT IS NOT HANDLED WITH CAUTION AND BY

QUALIFIED PRESONNEL (Figure 1).

To remove the machine’s package, proceed as follows:

1) Remove the nylon tape and cardboard box,

2) Remove the screws, fastening brackets and nylon wrapping,

3) Lift the machine from the wooden platform and place it onto the floor using a

suitable lifting mechanism.

If the machine needs to be re-located, the proper operation to be carried out,

supposing that the machine is installed in a good work environment, are described

below:

1) Disconnect electric power supply.

2) Disconnect air supply

3) Completely clean the machine.

4) Protect the machine using nylon bubble wrap, especially the areas comprising

the control panel.

5) Handle the machine with care and carry out the operation slowly (at a speed of

0.1m/s). Place it on a suitable pallet and stable it with the brackets supplied.

6) Lift the pallet with the machine and move it to the desired location. If the

external condition, such as weather, might cause damage to the machine during

relocation, use nylon to wrap and pack the entire pallet with suitable cardboard

or wooden crate.

IT IS IMPORTANT TO ENSURE THAT ALL ELECTRIC CABLES AND ALL OF

THE MACHINE’S EXTERNAL CONDUITS ARE PUT INSIDE THE MACHINE TO

AVOID OBSTRUCTING RELOCATION.

-

Any persons extraneous to the transportation and relocation processes must avoid

passing through and must stay away from the working area. Personnel who takes

part in the transportation and relocation processes must stay at an adequate distance

to avoid being injured by the machine in motion. Avoid sudden movements during

the whole process including lifting the machine.

4. OPERATION

4.1 PROPER AND IMPROPER USAGES

The DF-586N Shoe Sole Pressing Machine is designed and developed exclusively

for attaching soles onto uppers.

Any other usage is considered as non-authorized and as such dangerous to the

operators well-being and the machines operation.

-

-

Any modification to the machine must be authorized by DAFENG.

Any anomalous operation of the machine (not responding to what it is described in

this manual) can be a source of danger.

-

All interventions on the machine are to be carried out as outlined in this manual. In

any case, always make use of the Power Switch (see Figure 2 on Page 12) and turn

it to the OFF position as well as disconnect the air supply before performing any

intervention or control in the area below the working zone of the machine.

4.2 QUALIFICATION OF OPERATOR

It is essential for the machine operator to read this manual and possess the following

qualifications before operating:

Full control of visual faculties;

Knowledge of form, color and function of Emergency Stop button;

4.3 MACHINE OPERATION

Refer the following Figure 2 for the explanation of each component on the Machine:

1. LINE PRESSURE: this manometer shows the pressure in the pneumatic feeding

line of the machine (Max. 10 bar; Recommended 6 bar)

2. 1st PRESSURE REGULATOR: pressure reducer and its related manometer for the

control of the pressure in the first pressure membrane.

3. 2nd PRESSURE REGULATOR: pressure reducer and its related manometer for

the control of the pressure in the second pressure membrane.

4. EMERGENCY STOP BUTTON: Red mushroom button with coupling.

5. REGULATOR OF THE FOOTWEAR RECOGNITION ROD: adjust this

regulator to set the footwear into desired position (Left – Backward; Right –

Forward)

6. REGULATOR OF THE FOOTWEAR RECOGNITION ROD: adjust this

regulator to set the footwear into desired position (Left – Lower; Right – Higher)

7. START / INDICATOR LAMP: green light will be on when the footwear presents

on the housing

8. POWER SWITCH: switch for mechanical shutdown:

ON = 1

OFF = 0

EMERGENCY STOP SIGN appears when EMERGENCY BUTTON is pressed

(Figure 4).

This sign is a signal for membrane air leakage or air supply malfunction. Process the

following when this sign appears:

1. Press Emergency Stop Button and change the membrane.

2. If this sign still appear after changing a new membrane, check the air supply.

4.4 PRELIMINARY CHECK

-

-

For safety reason, it is extremely important that the personnel who operates the

machine is not occupied by others tasks when operating the machine. The passage

of operators and personnel in the machine’s working area is allowed inasmuch as

norms of proper behavior are respected.

Avoid leaving sharp or jagged objects such as screwdrivers on top of the machine’s

frame or inserted into the machine in case these objects drop into aspiration grids or

fall onto the floor when the machine is in operation.

Check and reset the line pressure (max 6 bar).

Check if the electric and pneumatic system have been properly connected

respecting the machine’s specifications.

4.5 STARTING THE MACHINE

-

After carrying out the preliminary check, proceed as follows:

1) Turn the POWER SWITCH to position 1 = ON

2) Select LANGUAGE (see 7 in Figure 3)

3) Turn ON / OFF the illumination basing on the working condition (see 5 in Figure 3)

4) Set the FIRST or SECOND PRESS TIME (see 1 and 2 in Figure 3)

5) Set the VACUUM TIME (see 3 in Figure 3)

6) Select AUTO or SEMI-AUTO MODE (see 6 in Figure 3 and 4.6 for more details)

7) Regulate first pressure with 1st PRESSURE REGULATOR (see 2 in Figure 2)

8) Regulate second pressure with 2nd PRESSURE REGULATOR (see 3 in Figure 2)

IMPORTANT

THE 2ND PRESSURE HAS TO BE MINIMUM 2 BAR HIGHER THAN THE 1ST

PRESSURE.

9) Insert the aluminum plate, the rubber and the pad-holding unit (as shown in Figure 6)

10) Do not leave any space between the footwear and the rubber inserted. If any spaces

are noted, change the rubber insert with a more suitable one.

11) Position the pad-holding unit below the footwear (as shown in Figure 7) and check

that the sole is positioned as parallel as possible to the plate.

12) Regulate the footwear’s position by using REGULATOR OF THE FOOTWEAR

RECOGNITION ROD (see 5 and 6 in Figure 2)

AT THIS POINT, THE MACHINE CAN START ITS WORK CYCLE.

N.B.: The recommended settings for time and pressure for the 1st and 2nd pressings are

absolutely indicative and by no means binding, as they must be verified from one

article to the next.

4.6 WORK CYCLE

The machine can operate in SEMI-AUTOMATIC or AUTOMATIC modes.

a) Semi-Automatic Mode

After having performed the start-up procedure, operator must:

Press the Semi-Auto Button to set it to Semi-Auto mode (see 6 in Figure 3)

Make sure the button shows Semi-Auto mode;

Combine the sole and upper and place them in the work area;

Make sure the sliding plate is positioned as near as possible to the footwear, and

that there are no spaces between the upper and the rubber inserted (an important

operation in order to avoid breaking the first pressure rubber unit);

Make sure the START / INDICATOR LAMP light (see 7 in Figure 2) is lighted up;

Press the Start / INDICATOR LAMP Button (see 7 in Figure 2) to START the

working cycle;

Wait for the bell to open again; when it opens and stops in its highest position, the

finished footwear can be unloaded and another can be inserted in its place.

b) Automatic Mode

After having performed the start–up procedure, operator must:

Press the Auto Button to set it to Auto mode (see 6 in Figure 3)

Make sure the button shows Auto mode;

Combine the sole and upper and place them in the work area;

Make sure the sliding plate is positioned as near as possible to the footwear, and

that there are no spaces between the upper and the rubber insert (an important

operation in order to avoid breaking the first pressure rubber unit);

The machine will work automatically once the hands are off the working zone;

Wait for the bell to open again; when it opens and is stops in its highest position, the

finished footwear can be unloaded and another can be inserted in its place.

5. MACHINE MALFUNCTION AND

TROUBLE-SHOOTING

5.1 RESIDUAL RISKS

If being used incorrectly, the machine may present some risks.

The following is a list of residual risks and / or recommended behavior aimed at

eliminating such risks;

The electrical power cable is supplied without its connecting plug; carry out the

connection correctly and only after having verified the machine’s compatibility with

the electrical installation’s specifications.

-

-

The connection to the air supply must be carried out correctly and only after having

verified the machine’s compatibility with air supply specifications.

Avoid leaving sharp or jagged objects such as screwdrivers on top of the machine’s

frame or inserted into the machine in case these objects drop into aspiration grids or

fall onto the floor when the machine is in operation

-

-

The operator must place his / her face at a safe distance from the machine’s work

area.

The machine’s doors cannot be opened when the machine is in operation.

CAUTION

THE MACHINE DOORS AND CASES CAN ONLY BE OPEN AFTER

DISCONNECTING THE ELECTRIC POWER AND AIR SUPPLY.

5.2 MACHINE MALFUNCTION

1. Shut down the machine (POWER SWITCH selector to the 0 = OFF position; see

Figure 8)

2. Disconnect the electric power cable (see Figure 9)

3. Disconnect the air supply (see Figure 9)

4. Inform maintenance personnel of the malfunction.

An accidental or intentional interruption of the machine’s electric power supply will

only results in its immediate shutdown; to restart the machine, repeat the start-up

procedure.

Individual safety devices for the respiratory system (such as masks) and eyes (such as

eyeglasses or other) are not required because of unnecessity. The machine will not

provoke gaseous emissions nor projects solid particles when correctly operated. The use

of special safety gloves, while recommended, is optional and left to the discretion and

habits of each individual operator. The use of a headset or ear plugs is recommended.

5.4 RESOLVING FORESEEABLE OPERATIONAL

PROBLEMS

The following is a summary table of eventual operating problems and relative

interventions.

5.5 MAINTENACE AND CLEANING

-

Maintenance and cleaning operations are to be carried out with all line connections

to the machine disconnected from their power supplies.

-

-

-

The machine has been designed to be cleaned with ease.

Its cleaning must be carried out EVERY DAY at the end of the work shift.

Attentive and regularly scheduled cleaning helps to maintain the machine’s

efficiency over time and results in less wear.

-

Periodic maintenance operations are indicated in the attached table. The use of an

appropriate compressed air dehumidification system is recommended as it prevents

the deterioration of internal pneumatic parts.

Regarding maintenance and repair operations, it is absolutely important that all

the machines line connections are disconnected from their sources before

maintaining and repairing.

For any maintenance and cleaning operation not listed below, consult the

machines retailer.

The work area must be cleaned exclusively using compressed air, liquid and

inflammable substances must under no circumstances be employed.

5.6 REPLACING THE FIRST AND SECOND PRESSING

MEMBRANES

TWO OPERATORS ARE REQUIRED TO REPLACE THE MEMBRANES, ONE

HAS TO BE A SPECIALIZED TECHNICIAN.

PRELIMINARY OPERATIONS (valid for the replacement of both membranes)

Switch off the machine (power switch to 0 = OFF);

Disconnect the machine from its electric power and air supplies (pressure must be

remove from the machine);

-

-

Unscrew the two screws (see Photo 1, Figure 10 below)

Rotate the upper frame (two operators are needed in this process)

REPLACING THE FIRST PRESSING MEMBRANE

-

-

Lift the bell, using the knee-toggle mechanism

Loosen the six screws which fasten the frame (see Photo 2, Figure 10 below) using

the wrench supplied with the machine. The screws must be loosened until they can

be removing from their housings.

-

-

-

Detach the frame and remove the membrane.

Check and clean the first pressing air chamber.

Fit in the new membrane (caution: some membrane models are to be positioned

with wording “POINT/ PUNTA” facing the front;

-

-

Reposition the frame and reattach the six screws.

It is recommended to tighten the screws in crisscross fashion. (see photo 2, Figure

10)

REPLACING THE SECOND PRESSING MEMBRANE

Disconnect the pressure tube

Loosen he fourteen screws which fasten the frame using the wrench supplied with

the machine.

Use the knee-toggle to facilitate the opening of the air chamber.

Check and clean the first pressing air chamber.

Fit in the new membrane.

Reposition the frame and tighten the fourteen screws.

It is recommended to tighten the screws in crisscross fashion (see Photo 3, Figure

10)

Reposition the pressure tube.

Close up the upper frame (this task required two operators)

Tighten the two screws (see Photo1, Figure 10 below)

Connect the machine to its electric power and air suppliers

Power on the machine

Perform the machine’s start-up procedure (see 4.5 Starting the Machine)

Note:

If during the I pressure phase a discharge of air heard, which is then

instantaneously interrupted when the pressure phase begins, this means the

membrane is broken and needs to be replace.

5.7 MACHINE DISASSEMBLING INSTRUCTIONS

Do not disperse machine parts in the environment.

To disassemble the machine, contact an authorized scrap dealer with a license to

deal with ferrous and non-ferrous metallic material.
